RELATIONS
It is a priority for us to build a project that integrates well into the community. Therefore, we want to create opportunities to involve and consult the public during the project's development.
Public Meetings
On September 20, 2024, we held two public meetings in Dalhousie. The goal of these meetings was to share information about the project, but more importantly, to hear citizens' concerns.

In total, about 400 people attended and shared their concerns and comments about the project. These contributions are important to us and will inform the project's development.

Seats to Fill

11 member seats to be filled on the Steering Committee:

1 First Nations representative**

1 representative from the municipal office of Heron Bay**

2 representatives from the business community of Restigouche County
-
3 residents from the Heron Bay area

1 resident from the regional municipal county (MRC) of Avignon, Quebec
-
1 representative from an environmental organisation**
-
2 representatives from a scientific or technical organisation**
** By proposals from the relevant organisations.

Many positions for substitute members:
The Steering Committee is also looking for people to form a pool of candidates for substitute roles.

What we are looking for:​

Willingness to participate on a volunteer basis.

Available to participate in at least 4 meetings per year. In general, discussions and presentations will be in English, but documents and exchanges are accepted in French.

Interest in extractive operations and sustainable development.

Asset: specific knowledge or skills related to the extractive industry.
